outfit: there is something in the way you move

topshop disco treggings(link), grey primark speckled tunic, primark blazer, primark cross necklace. topshop infrared on my lips(cannot find on website, sorry!)

This is an outfit i wore at the weekend. I tried on my topshop disco pants for the first time in ages, but they were way to big so thats where Operation Shrink Disco Pants began. I washed them in a hot 60 degree wash, and then tumbled dried them for about 10-15 mins. It actually worked well, and they looked the same as they had before, however i will have to do it a few more times until they fit perfectly!
I paired it with my primark grey speckled tunic and blazer, i think it made a lovely combination and the blazer added a lovely pop of colour!

malteasers cake

At the weekend I attempted or had a trial run at baking my little Brothers birthday cake for his birthday on Sunday. After a lot of time considering all the different cakes we decided on a Chocolate Sponge Cake, with malteasers on top and chocolate fingers around the side.
I followed this chocolate sponge cake recipe here but you can use any chocolate sponge cake recipe. Once it was done, and cooled i put some Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Icing between the two parts and then went on to put the icing all over the remainder of the cake. Then i put some Malteasers  all over the top of the cake. Because the cake was quite a shallow one, i had to cut the chocolate fingers in half, but i still think it looks lovely! I mixed white chocolate, and milk chocolate fingers to add to the look.
It tasted quite amazing, and because the sponge cake recipe i followed was quite light it wasnt as heavy as i thought it would be! It definitely made my brother happy, and hes delighted to have it at his birthday!
